New Student Registration

On January 3, 2007, the Fayette County Board of Education opened a new Welcome Center located in the Lafayette Education Building in Fayetteville. the main purpose of the center is to handle all new students' registration and all address changes of current students.

8:00 am - 4:00 pm (closed for lunch 12pm - 1pm)

New Students
You will need the following documents to enroll:

1. Certified birth certificate (must have imprinted, raised seal). Child must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2008 to enroll in Kindergarten for the 2008-2009 school year. (Please note that the certificate from the hospital is NOT an official birth certificate.) If you need to obtain one you may call 404-656-7454 or visit http://health.state.ga.us/programs/vitalrecords/Vital Records Unit for the state of Georgia. If your child was born in another state, we have the list of agencies for all states in our school office.

2. CHILD's Social Security Card.

3. One of the following documents:

Tax Bill

or
Original signed lease agreement
or
Affidavit of residency (can be obtained by contacting Arlene Law, Lafayette Educational Center, 205 Lafayette Ave., Fayetteville, 770-460-3990 ext.122)

4. Current gas OR electric bill displaying you name and address of service.

5. Photo ID of parent or guardian registering student.

By the beginning of school the following information is required:

1. Immunization Record on the GA State Form 3231 (The Varicella vaccine and Hepatitis B vaccine are now required for attendance).

2. Eye, Ear, and Dental Record on the GA State Form 3300.

Both documents can be obtained by your pediatrician or the county health department.


Address Changes

The procedure for those moving within district or home school area.

1. Let your current home school know of the move.

2. Go to the Welcome Center in Fayetteville with your two new proofs of residence for the new address.

     a. If purchasing a home - the Tax Bill
     b. If renting - the lease agreement
     c. A current gas or electric bill sent to you with your name and the new address on it.
