Media Center Behavior Expectations

  • Talk in quiet voices and behave calmly.
  • Ask for help when you need it.
  • Use your yellow shelf marker.
  • Take care of the books!

 Media Center Checkout Rules:

  • Kindergarten and first grade students may check out one book at a time.
  • Second, third, fourth, and fifth grade students may check out two books at a time.
  • Parents can sign up for a check out number and may borrow up to five books at a time.
  • All books are due back after two weeks.  A student or parent may renew the items at the checkout desk in order to keep them for a longer period.
  • Students with a book that has been overdue for one month will no longer be allowed to check out books until the missing item is returned or paid for.  Mrs. White or Mrs. Jones can give price information for the missing book.

Missing or Damaged Books:

  • If a book is damaged too severely to be checked out to other students, the book must be paid for so that a replacement can be purchased.
  • If a book is lost, the book must be paid for so that a replacement can be purchased.
  • If a lost book is paid for and later found during the same school year, a refund will be issued to the student’s parents/guardians.
